How secure is Zangi?
Zangi has taken safety to a whole new level. With a 3-layered encryption security system, Zangi surpasses mass market messengers. Zangi servers have no user communications, to withstand any hacker, advertiser or government breach.
FULL ENCRYPTION: Zangi uses an encryption proprietary handshaking mechanism (provided by default) and dynamic channel encryption (encrypts each session and is provided by default). With such encryption, all chats – including one-on-one chats, group chats, audio and video chat cannot possibly reach or be accessed by third parties or even by Zangi. With this type of encrypted messenger, the content of messages can only be decrypted by the recipient’s device. And once a message is deleted, it’s deleted forever. No traces can be found on the internet whatsoever.
DECENTRALIZATION: Zangi is the first secure messenger to work based on a decentralized model, which means there are no central servers that can be attacked, shut down, or forced to turn over data — Zangi’s network is only made up of its users. The philosophy of a decentralized messenger is to make it impossible for any third party to access any users’ personal data, thus nothing is stored on the cloud. And furthermore, the system reduces the risk of catastrophic failure and any kind of dependency on centralization.
SERVERLESS: Zangi does not store communication history on any servers; the entire information is only kept on the user’s device. To keep user communication history completely away from other parties, Zangi has implemented a peer-to-peer technology, which makes sending private information truly private.

Zangi Secure Messaging app's multi-level military grade encryption scheme ensures the complete confidentiality and authenticity of calls and messages, even across the most vulnerable or hostile networks
1. Encrypted proprietary handshaking mechanism
Used for encrypting authorization and session key exchange (encryption algorithms: RSA-2048).
2. Dynamic channel encryption
Used for encrypting each session between the client apps and the server ensuring the security of data transport (encryption algorithms: RSA-2048, AES-GCM)
3. End-to-End encryption.
Encryption keys exist only on user devices and nowhere else (encryption algorithms: AES-256, Curve25519, ECDH, HMAC-SHA256).
What is a serverless system?
Zangi does not store communication history on any servers; the entire information is only kept on the user’s device. With peer-to-peer technology, without servers, sending private information can be considered truly private.

What is a decentralized system?
Zangi is the first safest messaging app to work on a decentralized model, which means there are no central servers that can be attacked, shut down, or forced to turn over data. With decentralization, it is impossible for third parties to access users’ personal data, thus nothing is stored on the cloud. And furthermore, the system reduces the risk of system failure which comes from dependency on centralization.
Decentralized systems are opting to be the future of all advanced communication platforms because they are more robust, private and reliable than centralized systems.
Vahram M, CEO of Zangi explains, “We realize that the decentralized concept is not convenient for some people who prefer to have their messages, photos, and other important information kept on the cloud. That’s why we already have a new solution to this. For instance, our next step is to offer our users to create their personal cloud on their own devices. Once you take a photo with your phone, you can save it on any other personal device.”
Zangi’s thoughts on internet privacy
At Zangi we think that the two most important components of Internet privacy should be :
-
Protecting your private conversations from snooping third parties, such as officials, employers, etc.
-
Protecting your personal data from third parties, such as marketers, advertisers, etc.
These are Zangi’s top priorities. And to solve modern world privacy issues, Zangi has created a decentralized and serverless messenger.

How Zangi works with blocked contacts
Once you block a contact, the blocked contact will:
-
No longer be able to call you or send you messages.
-
No messages will be delivered
-
Any calls you attempt to place will not go through.
-
No longer see your last seen or online status
-
Not see updates to your profile photo.
-
Any messages sent to a contact who has blocked you will always show one check mark (message sent), and never show a second check mark (message delivered).
We have made blocking contacts as secure and convenient as possible. But also the blocked contact is never notified of this. We’ve made this intentionally ambiguous in order to protect your privacy when you block someone. Thus, we also cannot tell you if you are being blocked by someone else.
